When reviewing and locating clients accounts that are flowing through on a datafeed, Joint accounts can be a little tricky.
The IPS Datafeeds are quite accurate with automapping to either a Client or Partner, but for Joint accounts the IPS system has a bit of trouble mapping. Most of the time they can be located under the System Datafeeds menu and the manually mapped:
Navigate to 'Admin -> Integration -> System datafeeds':
Then navigate to 'Mappings -> IPS external accounts':
On the Search Filter list, update the following:
Then press 'Search'
If you see in the search results, more than 1 entry with the same 'Portfolio Account Name', 'Vendor' and 'IPS External Account ID' & 'Vendor Adviser ID', this will confirm the account is flowing through on an active datafeed but not yet linked to an Xplan Entity.
You will then need to copy the text listed under 'Portfolio Account Name' and 'IPS External Account ID' and paste it into notepad or word as we need this at a later step.
Press the drop down Action button to the left of one of the IPS account entries for your clients account, then select 'Delete' and press 'ok' to the delete warning
Now you need to navigate to your client through search clients, then to 'Portfolios -> Portfolio -> Position', press your clients name at the top of the screen, then select 'Joint' for the Joint Entity in IPS
Navigate to 'Portfolios -> Admin -> External Accounts' & press 'Add External Account'
Update the following:
Press 'Ok', then press 'Ok' to the confirmation popup
The account will now be showing in the IPS External Accounts list. Press Action drop down button, then select 'Refresh'
On the pop up, leave all boxes as they are and press 'Ok'
Navigate to 'Portfolios -> Admin -> Cash & Accounts', press the pencil paper icon to the left of the account you have just created
Update the 'Account' field (top of pop up) with the 'Portfolio Account Name' text that was copied earlier, this will then rename the account back to what it was from the datafeed
All Complete :)
